I met Pamela through a friend on facebook and saw her delightful colourful paintings. I love the naivety and spontaneity, the pure joy that is represented.





I asked her to say a few words about herself:

"Drawing since 10 yrs. old. Basically self taught just
from doodling around with different mediums.
Later on I attended art classes in college to realize the
use of paints better.
I continued to make stuff for friends and family.
Music is a big part of my creative process, jazz being my main inspiration.
Now I've created a website to share what I've accomplished. "

I first saw Helen's beads on Twitter where this lovely little pig kept popping up! I wrote to Helen and asked if she'd mind if I posted a picture up here, she very kindly said it was ok and here he is:

My name is Helen Mitchell and I live in a village near Peterborough. I am married to Jason and between us we have 4 lovely girls ... I began beadmaking in December 2005, my husband bought me a starter kit for Christmas after I had been going on for months that I wanted to make my own beads after seeing a display at a bead fair. I knew it was for me and ever since then have been totally addicted.... My bead making gives me a purpose and a goal and without it I am sure I would be a bit lost and probably quite mad!!!

I love what I do! I am very blessed that I have a family that understands my passion for creating. I have a wonderful husband and two great kids, one in high school and one in college. Three Australian Shepherds and two cats. They are all very patient with me when I disappear into the dark reaches of the basement, also known as my workshop lol! My spare time is spent creating lamp work beads and making jewelry with a variety of techniques. I am completely incapable of NOT making things and I need something to do with my hands wherever I may be. I hope that you enjoy my beads as much as I enjoyed making them.

Glass - Sheila Morley

Another true artist is Sheila Morely. I came across her site and just fell in love with her pieces. Each bead is a little world inside itself.

"I am making glass beads and sculptures, above a flame. I hold a rod of glass in a fire and melt it into a bead! I paint in the air! I work with the most amazing material in the universe! I hang out with people that say they are "in Love" with glass. (that is one of my favorite parts.) "
I make Murrini, beads,marbles paper weights, future sculptures, and ACEO cards...I love to draw and sculpt with clay too.
I live with my two children, and a supportive husband. All three are very creative, and I am inspired to make art with them. I have a feeling the art I put out in cyber space will not just be my own...exciting creations are ahead! ......
I like to create things. I have contributed to some other Artist's projects...; I just really like to have my create time to be for me; not just money. So, I am there in Autocad land, and I am here...
This is my passion; creating. It makes me happy when I can create something that has deep meaning, and have its value be sentimental to its owner.

Glass and Lampwork

Anyone who knows my jewellery will know that I just adore using glass and lampwork. Man there is some amazing stuff out there. Of course there is also a lot of pretty cheap stuff as well, but the quality is very different and this is reflected in the price. Once you go upmarket a little you find the quality and artistry increases until you arrive at the true artists. The next few posts are to show some of the truly stunning things that can be done with glass. Very kindly the artisans involved have allowed me to use their photos.
