A little different from what I usually put here but I thought these were just just such fun.  Elizabeth says

"Hi, I've been a working artist for 10 years. I work in several and have produced acrylic paintings, art furniture and ceramic sculpture. Lately I have making Earthen Critters, ceramic animals designed to be placed in the garden or home. I hand build each one and they are all unique. I love layering the colors over each other giving each piece luninosity and depth. I fire each one to a high temperature and use non toxic glazes, which makes them safe for the environment and weather proof.

I don't do much realistic work, however, I have taken numerous painting and drawing classes and I think its important to learn technical skill. My work usually includes layers of medium with a gloss substance over the top. I love texture, depth, color and luminosity. "

Renee calls her art 'dark' - I find it very interesting!

Zypsiollia consists of Renee Gorman - me. When I was a little girl being an artist was the thing I wanted to do \"when I grew up\". Well, now I am all grown up and after taking the long way around to get here, I am attempting to make my way as an artist.
The history on the name of my shop is as follows - my younger brother and I were having a conversation regarding the lack of words that start with a \"Z\". We began making up words starting with \"Z\" and my brother came up with Zypsiollia. I loved it. I think it has a whimsical sound and has the \'feel\' of a real word, so I made it one. It is my word, my brand for my artwork, and means only me.
I am a traditional, conceptual artist. My work is strange and unusual, because I myself am strange and unusual.

I am elementary school music teacher by day. I currently am teaching K-5 general music in a small school district in SW Kansas.

I am originally from northern MN though and miss the lakes and trees there. Currently, I am very involved in the local community theater where I live, which is my second home.

I have many interests and hobbies. I have been beading in some form or other since I was about 14 years old. Since then I have taught myself how to weave beads on a loom, string beads, restring vintage beads, make beads of natural items (spices, flower petals, paper, etc.), wire beads into a chain, wire wrap cabachons and various other bits of things, and I have also become very good at making resin beads, pendants and other focal pieces.

I am currently exploring the world of polymer clay as well. My studio showcases the variety of my pieces and skills.

Who's Behind Nature Manipulated?
My name is Michelle and I am the owner/designer of Nature Manipulated. I started taking art classes at a young age and continued my art studies at LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts. After completing high school, I began going to a small art college. Shortly after starting, I felt like I was loosing my passion for the arts. It was becoming a chore, or rather, homework. I took a break from creating things, although my love for photography never ceased. I continued taking pictures. After several years, I started dabbling again with my colored pencils and paints. (colored pencils were my favorite in high school.) …..I really enjoy creating things again and enveloping myself in the artsy world. I am glad that my childhood passion did not fade away forever. Sometimes when you take a little break, you come back stronger.

I love what I do! I am very blessed that I have a family that understands my passion for creating. I have a wonderful husband and two great kids, one in high school and one in college. Three Australian Shepherds and two cats. They are all very patient with me when I disappear into the dark reaches of the basement, also known as my workshop lol! My spare time is spent creating lamp work beads and making jewelry with a variety of techniques. I am completely incapable of NOT making things and I need something to do with my hands wherever I may be. I hope that you enjoy my beads as much as I enjoyed making them.

Taking so long to sort myself out here

I have a shop on Etsy, I have a shop on Artfire, I have my own website:
www.somethingextraspecial.com, and there is a blog on there, but it's really quite restricted so have gotten a bit fed up with it.
I am on twitter and have a fanpage on facebook. Oh my god!
I could just spend all my life on the net but know I will have to focus on one place soon, you can only spread yourself around so much without getting too thin.
I am spending less and less time actually making the jewellery that I am promoting. It takes a lot of time getting my supplies, then after making, I need to photo, which I then have to edit and then upload onto the computer. After that I have to upload to picturetrail.com for my website. Then I have to upload to etsy, write the description, go to a xe currency converter to exchange the price into dollars. I then put the photos up. I go back to my website and put a smilar lot of info up, plus the pics from picturetrail and the slide shows and then go over to artfire and do it all over again. I may let people on twitter know and / or the fan page on facebook. So as you can see, its rediculous. That isn't taking into account the google analytics or adwords or vutrac and have stopped doing flickr now.
If anyone has any good ideas or comments please do let me know, cos this is getting on my nerves, there must be a better way of doing all this.
And now I'm doing this.....................
